Camp
Nostalgia
I was thrilled to see the renovation of the
Lake
Bruin fishing camp in your August
issue. My mother was born in the area, and
many of her extended family members still
live there.
(1
actually stayed in
one of those
little
duplexes!)
My mom, Annette Burke,
passed away in February
She would have
loved seeing the transformation of that camp.

We asked: Have you made a
“someday” dream into reality?
During a Florida vacation
we spotted our dream
home at the end of a long
lane. Few people would
have seen the charm in
it, but we could sense it. 1
wasn’t yet planning to re-
tire, but
as we walked the
wooded property, we
knew we were home.
My
husband picked up a couple
of pinecones from the drive
and put them in his pocket.
I said, “Rear, those don't
belong to us,” and he said,
“I'll bring them back when
we return.” That’s when
1
knew we were going home
to Pennsylvania and put
our house on the market.
Last fall, the Bear put the
pinecones back where they
belonged. We were home.

One lovely September day
my husband took me for
a ride on the motorcycle
through the countryside.
We crested a hill, and f saw
the most beautiful dilapi-

ever! We made an offer, it
was accepted, and I’ve had
the time of my life working

a thrill to make
a complete

It seems I've been reading
BHG since I could read
and have found only one
correction in this magazine
of terrific ideas- That being
the leftover-margaritas
idea on page 166 of the
August issue. Just when
did anyone have any
“leftover margaritas?”
This calls for an additional
pitcher of margaritas!

There arc so many great
articles in the August
issue. This morning
1
got
my 2- and 4-year-olds to do
the exercises on page 204.
And you should have seen
my 4-year-old’s face when
he found me plucking my
eyebrows (page 130).
